MEMES & ANECDOTES
ANECDOTE: Years ago, as I had done for several years, I prepared a ham to go in the oven for our Easter dinner by carefully trimming about 2 inches off the rounded top of the ham, as my mother had taught me to do. As I glazed it with brown sugar, it suddenly it struck me - why? So I called her and asked her why she always trimmed the top off the ham. She said HER mother had taught her to do it that way and she had been doing it all her life. Since my grandmother was still alive, I decided to ask her the same question. "Why, you're not still doing that, are you?" she asked. "I had to do that because my old oven was so small." How many of us mindlessly carry on a 'family tradition' with no understanding as to how or why it began? (submitted by Kathy Winters)

Anonymous Anecdote: "I believe that God put me on this earth to accomplish a certain number of things.
Right now I am so far behind that I will never die."
